How to update legacy instructions for wires on ATB FX

4 December 2024

On January 20, 2025, all existing wire instructions in ATB FX must be updated because of new regulatory standards for wires. Once the standards go into effect, wire instructions that have not been updated will no longer work.

Updating wire instructions is simple. Follow these steps.

  1. Log in to ATB FX.
    • Since you’ve enrolled in two-factor authentication, you will be asked to verify your identity.
  2. From the Home screen, click Non-Compliant Settlement Instructions. This will take you to a list of all your Legacy instructions that require updating.
  3. Click View Details for the instruction you wish to update.
  4. Scroll down and click Amend. A warning will appear advising that you are about to update the instruction to the new ISO regulatory standard.
  5. Click Proceed, which opens up the new ISO template. Instructions from the original legacy format will auto-populate for some fields.
  6. Update the Payee Address.
    • To see the original instruction information click on View Past Payee Address. This will populate the View Past Payee Address box with the address from the original wire instruction.
  7. Using the information in the View Past Payee Address box, update the required fields. Country, City and Street Name are mandatory fields.
  8. Update the Bank Details. Click on the Bank Details dropdown to open the section. This should auto-populate. Review to make sure all mandatory fields (indicated with a “*”) are filled.
  9. Update the Additional Payment details by clicking the Additional Payment dropdown.
    • If you had additional payment details in the previous wire instruction, when you click View Past Additional Details box, that information will populate in the box. Please copy and paste that information into the new box below it.
  10. Once all sections are complete, click the Submit button.
    • You will receive a warning if a required field has not been updated.
    • You will be prompted to verify your identity with two-factor authentication.
  11. You're done! Now you can use this wire template for settlement of any new trades.
