Pink Shirt Day

ATB and Junior ATB come together to champion compassion on Pink Shirt Day.

ATB believes bullying should never be a part of growing up and has no place in any workplace.

This year, we’re once again taking a stand against bullying by supporting Pink Shirt Day and are thrilled to have Junior ATB join the movement. On February 27, 2019, we invite our team members, customers and all Albertans to join us in wearing pink.

Pink Shirt Day began as a small but powerful act of compassion in Nova Scotia when, after seeing a classmate bullied for wearing a pink shirt, a group of students decided to wear pink to act in solidarity with their friend. Today, it’s a way to take a stand against bullying around the world.

This year we’re proud to have collaborated with Junior ATBers in Edmonton and Calgary to create a video about what Pink Shirt Day means to them. They wrote the words, which inspired the poem, and you can find the result below.

Everyone deserves happiness and acceptance. That’s why we support anti-bullying initiatives like Pink Shirt Day, and programs like Camp fYrefly and fYrefly-in-schools, which empower LGBTQ and allied youth.

Please join us in wearing pink this February 27. Together, we can make it clear that bullying has no place here in Alberta.
