ATB named one of Alberta's Most Respected Corporations

We're celebrating some great news at ATB Financial. Alberta Venture magazine has named us Alberta's Most Respected Corporation in the area of corporate social responsibility.

That's a fancy way of saying the magazine and its readers have recognized us for our commitment to Alberta. The magazine had high praise for the work we do in all corners of the province, from the causes we donate to and the partners we sponsor, to the Alberta stories we celebrate on www.wearealberta.ca. What's even more gratifying is that we were chosen from three finalists as the winner by Alberta Venture's own readers.

We're thrilled that Venture's writers focused on Amina Ofleh, a Somali-Canadian mother of six who lives in a Calgary home built through Habitat for Humanity with ATB's $110,000 in donations and 1,600 hours of volunteer labour. She's a wonderful story, and she characterizes our commitment to Alberta and the stories we're celebrating through wearealberta.ca.

We've always been committed to Alberta. That hasn't changed. But what Alberta Venture and others are noticing is that we're starting to proudly shout that commitment from the rooftops in creative and meaningful ways. We've always had great stories. Now it's all about the power in telling them. We have a dedicated community investment and external relations team that's working hard to build those partnerships, and tell those stories.

And we'll continue to find interesting ways to invest in Alberta communities, including the popular Untapped Alberta concert series for emerging Alberta musicians, which rocked five Alberta towns and cities this fall.
