News Release: October 7, 2008 It’s an Alberta first as ATB Financial celebrates innovative new branch and partnership at SAIT ATB Financial celebrated the grand opening Tuesday of its new SAIT Polytechnic location, the first branch opened by a major financial institution on an Alberta post-secondary campus. The branch – ATB’s 162nd in Alberta – features a bold, student-friendly design and offers a full range of financial services to SAIT’s students and staff. ATB also revealed details Tuesday about its unique new partnership with SAIT. The largest Alberta-based financial institution pledged to invest $25,000 in the SAIT community over the next five years, through an innovative combination of scholarships and sponsorships. It also committed to a range of on-campus priorities, including finding employment opportunities for SAIT students, providing promotional and volunteer help for SAIT’s role in hosting the WorldSkills Calgary 2009 competition, and hosting seminars on topics that will help students, including managing finances. “We want to be much more than ‘the bank’ on the corner of SAIT’s campus,” said Dave Mowat, ATB’s President and CEO. “We want to be a big part of the SAIT community, a big part of the lives of its students and staff.
