Our Training Programs

ATB Financial’s training programs prepare new grads for an exciting, professional career in Financial Services. Each program is tailored to the specific needs of the individual and each program offers up to 9 months of enriched training. With three types of training programs available, there’s a way to your ideal career.

Are you an analytical thinker? Account Manager Trainees learn how to analyze financial statements and identify products and services for independent business owners and agriculture customers.

Are you a natural leader? Customer Service Manager Trainees learn how to excel in a busy environment leading a team of Customer Service Representatives with the ability to handle multiple demands at once.

Do you enjoy building relationships? Personal Banking Specialist Trainees learn to focus on enhancing relationships and understanding the needs of the customer by selecting personal deposit, loan and wealth management products.

Training Program Eligibility

Do you have what it takes to be considered for one of our training programs? Students should possess the following qualifications:

  • Leadership experience through employment, volunteer work, community involvement, school projects and/or personal development activities
  • Superb oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Confidence, self-motivation and an eagerness to accept new challenges
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business or management (Accounting, Human Resources or Finance major preferred)
  • Sales experience in retail, service, or banking an asset
  • Desire to learn and grow with ATB
  • Passionate about putting people first
  • May require willingness to relocate

CO-OP and Work Experience

Just starting out? Find the practical, real-life work experience you are looking for at ATB Financial. We provide relevant on-the-job training that support students professional development. Typically, work experience assignments are arranged directly through our regional branch network or corporate offices and your school or training institution.

ATB Financial offers a variety of CO-OP and Work Experience Programs. These programs expose you to relevant professional assignments and introduce you to the unique responsibilities of a specific line of business.

Enhance your understanding of our operations and make positive, creative contributions at ATB Financial in one of our CO-OP placements. Assignment length varies from a minimum 4 months to a maximum of 16 months.

CO-OP Program Eligibility

Up to the challenge? Eligible students must be enrolled in an accredited full-time co-op/intern degree program. CO-OP opportunities are available throughout the academic year, so visit our website regularly and apply to the program of your choice.
