Overview ATB Financial ("ATB") is a full-service financial institution headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. ATB is the largest Alberta-based financial institution, with assets of $26.5 billion. Some 5,000 associates provide Personal and Business Financial Services, Corporate Financial Services, and Investor Services to more than 670,000 Albertans in 244 communities. ATB provides service through 164 branches and 133 agencies, a Customer Contact Centre, a network of Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) across Alberta, Internet and Telephone. ATB Financial was established in 1938 and has been a provincial Crown corporation since 1997. This year, it was named one of Canada’s 50 Best Employers by Report on Business Magazine, one of the 75 Best Workplaces in Canada by the Great Place to Work Institute, and one of Alberta’s Top 40 Employers by Mediacorp Canada Inc.

History ATB was established in 1938, by the Government of Alberta to extend basic financial services to Albertans. Our first branch opened on September 29, 1938 in Rocky Mountain House. ATB became a provincial Crown Corporation in October 1997 under the authority of the Alberta Treasury Branches Act Chapter A-37.9, 1997 and Treasury Branches Regulation 187/97. In January 2002, we launched our new corporate identity, ATB Financial. This new identifier confirms the business we are in - providing a full range of financial services to Alberta - and reconfirms our commitment to the people of our province. "Albertans Investing in Alberta" is a publication that covers the history of ATB Financial from 1938 to 1999. ATB operates under a Board of Directors appointed by the Lieutenant Govenor in Council, and had investment, liquidity and risk standards comparable to other financial institutions. Memberships
